This part of our student programme is designed to support those who would not normally be able to afford training but who are passionate about working in the industry.

To be eligible, students must already hold the BHS Stage 1.

Students have 14 hours per week training, which is a mixture of formal training sessions, practical sessions and supervised skills practice.

They then are employed to work on the yard at other times for between 10 and 20 hours per week as grooms and/or instructors.  Work is on a rota-basis including evenings and weekends with at least 2 days off per week.  All normal employment benefits apply including paid overtime, holidays and pension rights.

The training is fully funded by a bursary (normally £280 per month), although assessments need to be paid for by the student.  A 5% discount applies as an employee of a BHS Assessment Centre.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE HAVE A WAITING LIST FOR THIS PROGRAMME.

If you would like to join the waiting list, please send us your CV and a cover letter detailing your experience with horses, why you want a place and what your long-term goals in the industry are.
