All set up - Camps at Courses or Horses

We run camps throughout the Summer for adults and Pony Club

Adults are welcome to stay over.  You can bring you own tent or a caravan or horsebox/trailer if you prefer. We also have some lovely B&Bs locally.

Our ethos is to be as friendly and supportive as possible. Everyone is treated as an individual and there's no pressure - just plenty of encouragement!

Children use our ponies, but adults are welcome to either bring their own horse or use ours.

Pony Club camp

For ages 6-11, it's all about having fun! There’s riding, horse care, games and activities with the focus on inclusion and achievement – whatever level the child is. We realise that it can be a bit daunting for some children to be away from home and so, for ages 6-11, there is no overnight stay, just 3 packed days of activities (running from 9.30am to 4.00pm each day)

For ages 12-17,  whilst it's still fun, there is more emphasis on personal development. Riders are grouped together in matching ages/abilities so that they get the most from their lessons and own ponies are welcome. As well as riding, there are demos from our staff and visiting professionals and a change to develop skills such as lunging and practical horse care. Theses camps run from 9.30am on the Tuesday to 3.30pm on the Thursday. Large tents are provided or you can bring your own.

Children need to bring a packed lunch

 Cost:   £150

£75.00 deposit due on booking with the remainder due the Friday before the camp (may be paid in instalments) - booking available for Pony Club members only!

Adult Camps

 MAIN CAMP (18+)

The camp is relaxed , with no pressure. The ethos is to progress people at their own pace and make the sessions as bespoke as possible. There are two rides a day and we cater for all levels (we do require riders to be proficient in walk and trot). Lessons are a mixture of individual, paired and group (max 4 riders) and we ensure that all riders are matched on ability/experience.

Broadly-speaking, we offer one flat ride and one jump each day, including cross country jumping (ground dependent). For those who do not wish to jump, we offer two flat-work lessons or one flat work and one poles session.

In addition to riding, there are talks, demos and practical sessions. Typical subjects are horse conformation and action, the scales of training, body balance, mental training and lunging/long-reining. We are very happy to add other subjects! It's a packed timetable and much more than just riding sessions. Activities finish at 5.00pm. On the first night we have a take away. On the second night there's a BBQ (if good weather) or jacket potatoes with various fillings. There's also plentiful homemade cake!

Overnight stay is optional. If you want to stay, we provide large tents, or you can bring your own. Horse boxes or caravans are welcome, although we have no electric hook-up.

This takes place at the end of  August and starts on Sunday morning and runs until Bank Holiday Monday afternoon.

In this camp, there is one ride per day. Other activities include working the horse from the ground, understanding mindset, yoga and other complimentary therapies for both horse and rider. The idea with this camp is that you will return home feeling happy, relaxed and chilled out!

Both the above camps can be with your own horse or one of ours. There is no additional cost if you bring you own horse but we do require people to bring top-up bedding, hay and feeds. (Or they can be purchased from us if needed.) Stabling is in our Monarch stable block with automatic waterers. Mucking out equipment is available but you will need to bring buckets (including water buckets if your horse doesn’t normally drink out of an automatic waterer).

All food and soft drinks are included in the price (excluding the take away) and you are welcome to bring alcohol to drink if you wish. Special dietary requirements are catered for if required.
